New Mexico State will aim to end its season on a high note.

The Aggies (4-7, 2-5 Conference USA) play their final game of 2025 against Middle Tennessee (2-9, 1-6) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at home. It will be the earliest kickoff NM State has had for a home game this season.

The Aggies are coming off a 34-31 victory over UTEP in their previous game that snapped their five-game losing streak. They trailed 21-0 after the first quarter, but rallied to tie the game at 21-21 before halftime. NM State needed another comeback when it went down 31-27 with 56 seconds left, but wide receiver TK King caught a game-winning 10-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left.

The Blue Raiders earned their first conference win of the season in their previous game against Sam Houston, winning 31-17. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak, and another one would mean consecutive 3-9 finishes for MTSU. Derek Mason is in his second season coaching the Blue Raiders and is 5-19 as their coach.

Things to know

  • NM State starting quarterback Logan Fife is questionable as he continues recovering from a back injury he sustained against Tennessee on Nov. 15. Adam Damante will start another game if Fife can't play, although Aggies coach Tony Sanchez said in a Monday, Nov. 24, press conference that both Fife and Damante could take the field if the former is healthy.

  • If Fife can't play, both teams will likely start quarterbacks who didn't enter the season as the starter. MTSU's Roman Gagliano has started his team's last two games, combining for 651 passing yards, five total touchdowns and zero interceptions against Western Kentucky and Sam Houston.

  • The Aggies and Blue Raiders both rank in the bottom three of CUSA for points per game. The former is 11th with 21.4 points per game, and the latter is 10th with 21.6 points per game.

  • If NM State earns a takeaway, it will have at least one in every game this season. The Aggies earned one against UTEP when cornerback Stilton McKelvey made a toe-dragging interception on the Miners' first drive of the second half.

  • MTSU hasn't beaten NM State since 2003. The Aggies have taken down the Blue Raiders in both games against them since joining CUSA in 2023, including last season's 36-21 victory on the road.
