However, viewers will have to be more patient as there will be a wait for the project's next offering.
Ghosts Season 5 Is Currently On Thanksgiving Break

After a series of big episodes that culminated in its Thanksgiving celebration, Ghosts season 5 is not airing any new episode tonight, November 27, 2025, as CBS gives the majority of its programming a hiatus. While there's no official reason for this, it's safe to assume that this is in light of the Thanksgiving holiday this week, as the network preempts its usual primetime fare for specialized programming.
Case in point, CBS is airing an NCAA game between Duke and Arkansas for its Thursday night schedule. The match starts at 8 PM ET and is expected to run until 10 PM ET. This means that it will take over not just Ghosts season 5's half an hour slot from 8:30 to 9 PM ET, it will also preempt showings of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 2 and the concerning Matlock season 2.
When Ghosts Season 5 Will Return & What To Expect
Because Ghosts season 5's break is not CBS' usual annual schedule, it is short-lived. This means that Sam, Jay, and their Woodstone Mansion friends are set to return sooner rather than later — on December 4, 2026, specifically. It will continue to release new episodes consistently until its mandatory winter break, which should last longer than a week but definitely shorter than a summer hiatus.
When Ghosts season 5 returns, the focus of its storytelling will be on Bela and Isaac, as the CBS comedy tackles their respective current predicament. Titled "The Proposal," Jay is tasked to help Eric plan the perfect proposal for his sister, who has been managing Mahesh, hence, has been living in the Woodstone Mansion with them. As usual, some ghost meddling changes the course of the narrative. Meanwhile, Isaac works to gain the trust of his supposed fellow basement ghosts.
