With November 28 on the calendar now, it's officially Black Friday! That didn't stop Dyson from starting its sale early, and I'd already seen a whole load of great discounts prior to today.
Now, however, there's up to AU$650 in savings to be had directly from Dyson on some of its coveted products, including the V-series vacuums and the Airwrap. Given their typically high price tags, shopping during Black Friday is always a good idea. That said, I'm here to help you find excellent Dyson alternatives as well. These are cheaper but perform just as well, so if you aren't too fussed about a brand name, you could stand to save more.
You don't have long to save on a new Dyson product though – Cyber Monday (December 1) is just a few days away, and that's when the sale will end. So get a wriggle on treat yourself to a new vacuum, hair styler or purifier for the summer.

Save 45% (AU$700)Dyson Gen5detect Absolute Detail Cleaning Kit: was AU$1,549 now AU$849 at Dyson AustraliaIt's been succeeded by the V16 Piston Animal as the most powerful Dyson yet, but the suction here is still superb. This particular variant of the Gen5detect is similar to the Complete model that came with all the bells and whistles, but there's no free-standing dock here, just a wall mount. You'll get 5 attachments in total here.
View Deal
Save 47% (AU$723)Dyson Gen5detect Absolute: was AU$1,549 now AU$826 at eBayThis offer was AU$809 previously, but this is still an excellent price for the standard Gen5Detect Absolute. You only miss out on the wall dock in this offer on eBay via the official Dyson Store. You'll get 2 cleaning heads and 3 additional tools in the box, which isn't bad at all.

Save 49% (AU$766)Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Absolute: was AU$1,549 now AU$783 at AmazonDyson's original wet-dry cordless stick vacuum is pretty handy to have around the home – you can vacuum first and then follow it up with a mop. I still use it at home and, in my Dyson V15s Detect Submarine review, I found the mopping to be very good indeed but a design flaw makes some of that dirty water slosh out when you want to clean out the Submarine attachment. If you can find a way around it, this is one could be well worth considering. Check the coupon box on Amazon for the full discount.

Save 44% (AU$525)Dyson V11 Advanced: was AU$1,199 now AU$674 at Dyson AustraliaIt was down to AU$569 on Amazon previously and proved so popular, stocks ran out. While this offer isn't as good, it's still a very decent saving on what is still a very good vacuum cleaner. The V11 has up to 60 minutes of run time, and it’s got an LCD screen to show you just how much battery life you’ve got left.
The Good Guys have also listed the V11 Advanced for AU$675, but the price-beat option could score you slightly better discount.
View Deal
Save 37% (AU$410)Dyson V10 Cyclone: was AU$1,099 now AU$689 at AmazonThis older Dyson vacuum was down to AU$589 on Amazon in October 2024, but was selling for AU$749 through Black Friday 2024, so I suppose it's fair to say this is a decent deal on the V10. It offers fade-free power for up to 60 minutes, and this variant comes with a Fluffy cleaning head (not the one with the light as in the V15) and the Digital Motorbar to suit homes with mixed flooring. There are three additional attachments in the box, along with a wall dock. And don't forget the additional AU$10 coupon applied at checkout.

Save 20% (AU$204)Dyson V9 Submarine: was AU$999 now AU$795 at Dyson AustraliaDyson quietly released this model earlier this year, offering a cheaper way to get yourself a wet-and-dry vacuum. It has lesser suction power than the V15s Detect, but we haven't been able to try it for ourselves yet. It also lasts no more than 40 minutes on a single charge. I'd say this would be better suited to smaller homes.
View Deal
Save 56% (AU$450)Dyson V8 Origin: was AU$799 now AU$349 at The Good GuysThe V8 might be Dyson's oldest current model, but it's the best option on a budget. The V8 Origin model ships with two additional tools and this lightweight vacuum will give you up to 40 minutes of runtime, so is better suited to smaller homes. If you take advantage of The Good Guys' price-beat promise, you can get this for cheaper.

Save 56% (AU$561)Dyson WashG1: was AU$999 now AU$438 at Dyson AustraliaThis is a massive discount on Dyson's original floor washer. If you have only hard floors at home, a machine like this saves you time as it vacuums and mops at the same time. And it can tackle wet spills too. It uses two rollers in the cleaning head and has no filters that can create bad odours when it's at rest. And a self-cleaning cycle ensures it's ready to go for its next spin any time.
Kogan is listing the WashG1 for just AU$449 and while there's no mention of it in the product page, the URL suggests it's a damaged box.

Save 34% (AU$252)Dyson Supersonic Nural: was AU$749 now AU$497 at AmazonThis hair dryer has a plethora of sensors that make sure your scalp remains healthy, automatically adjusting heat and airflow depending on how far away the dryer is from your head. You also get a bunch of magnetic attachments for a styled blow dry too – this hair dryer won a TechRadar Gadget of the Year Award in 2024, so it's well worth considering.
View Deal
Save 37% (AU$310)Dyson Airwrap (Complete Long): was AU$849 now AU$539 at AmazonThe price of the Airwrap has been hovering around this price point for a while now, and it's a goodly saving on the popular multi-styler. Note, though, that the barrel here is for longer hair lengths. Also included is the Flyaways attachment and a few brushes for volume or straightening.
View Deal
Save 18% (AU$152)Dyson Airwrap i.d.: was AU$849 now AU$697 at JB Hi-FiI don't recall such a good discount on the new edition of the Airwrap multi-styler, but note that only a few of the colourways get this AU$150 saving. According to TechRadar's Home Editor, this is the best hair styler tool, hands down, with the curl.i.d switch being the game changer here. It's still an investment and I don't think this price will drop any further through the sale period.

Save 34% (AU$254)Dyson Airstrait: was AU$749 now AU$495 at The Good GuysPromising to take way less time to straighten hair than traditional flat irons by working just fine in wet hair, the Airstrait is the hair-care tool making headlines. It won't burn wet hair as other straighteners would, leaving you with less hair damage and a quicker styling session in the mornings.
View Deal
Dyson Corrale: was AU$699 now AU$545 at AmazonWhile the Dyson Airstrait was busy making headlines, the older Corrale hair straightener is faded into the background. And yet, if you want a Dyson straightener that can work on even the tightest of curls, this would be it. It was 29% off on Amazon this time last year, but I wouldn't scoff at a smaller 22% saving. It's a heavy appliance, but it works cordlessly for a short time and even has an airplane mode that disconnects the battery while you're travelling. It also has a safety shut off that activates after about 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity.
View Deal
Save 34% (AU$205)Dyson Supersonic (Copper/Nickel): was AU$599 now AU$394 at Dyson AustraliaIt might be cheaper than the Nural, but with the current discount, the newer and smarter hair dryer is the better buy. Still, the old Supersonic has a fan following and if you've been holding off for it, Dyson's got a good price on the Prussian Blue/Copper colourway. Other variants like the Nickel/Copper are out of stock.

Save 30% (AU$150)Dyson Cool: was AU$499 now AU$349 at Dyson AustraliaIt might be a basic tower fan from Dyson, but it promises to cool the room down quickly by amping up its airflow. It comes with a handy remote control and there's a timer functionality too. A decent 20% discount gives it a more approachable price tag.

Save 21% (AU$250)Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx: was AU$1,199 now AU$949 at Dyson AustraliaDespite a decent AU$250 saving, this purifier fan and heater is quite an expensive machine, and yet it could justify its premium price. Firstly, it can be used year round, cooling and heating as needed. Second, if you or a family member suffers from allergies, you don't need a separate purifier, this does it all, even filtering out noxious nitrogen dioxide that's a major air pollutant and causes respiratory disorders. It even promises to remove cooking odours.

Save 11% (AU$123.62)Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde (HP09): was AU$1,149 now AU$1,025.38 at AmazonThis Dyson appliance offers heating, cooling and air purification, making it more space-efficient than investing in separate devices. Like the name suggests, this device removes formaldehyde from your home, and Dyson claims the appliance destroys it completely. It’s a rather expensive device, but it looks modern and sleek, and the all-in-one aspect is appealing. It's shame that the discount isn't great though, but any saving is a good thing.

Save 50% (AU$400)Dyson OnTrac: was AU$799 now AU$399 at JB Hi-FiWe thought these cans were overpriced in our Dyson OnTrac review, but appreciated that the British brand has done a far better job on its second set of headphones than the Zone. While sound is lovely, there are others who do it better, but just being able to customise the headphones might well be worth the cash.

Save 22% (AU$100)Shark PowerPro Flex Reveal: was AU$449.99 now AU$349.99 at Shark AustraliaTaking everything that makes the standard Shark PowerPro one of the best affordable cordless vauum cleaners, but adding a bendy wand to get under furniture and headlights on the cleaning head to reveal all the dirt it needs to clean up, there's probably better value for money here for some users who'll take full advantage of the extra features.

Save 37% (AU$224)Shark PowerDetect Cordless: was AU$599 now AU$375 at AmazonIt's the auto-emptying version of this cordless vacuum that I rank as the #1 best vacuum in Australia, but if you don't need that feature, this is arguably one of the best deals I can recommend on a powerful machine. You'll get up to 70 minutes of runtime, plus a bendy wand to get under furniture, and there's dynamic suction for the best clean possible. Note that while Amazon only calls it a 6% discount, that is from the previous discounted price, and it was AU$599 at Amazon just a few days ago.

Save 29% (AU$100)Shark FlexStyle (BYO bundle): was AU$349.99 now AU$249.99 at Shark AustraliaIt was the multi-styler that began the Airwrap-dupe trend and now it's slowly fading away from popularity with newer models from Shark itself and other competitors joining in. I use it myself and even though the Airwrap would be the better styler, I can't deny its overall value. In this package, Shark allows you to pick three attachments you'll need most (trust me, you won't use more than that), so you can build your own bundle.

This includes two condensers rather than the standard single unit in other packages. No one on my team has tried this yet, but it promises good things on a very tight budget, like fast drying, three temperature settings and three speeds. And much like the Shark FlexStyle that it resembles, the cord swivels a full 360º.

Generally speaking, yes. And more so this year because the prices keep dropping – between Amazon, eBay and directly from Dyson, there are some seriously steep price drops happening already and it's even officially Black Friday yet!
There's still plenty of time to shop for Dyson deals, so if you want to hold off on some of the more expensive items, you probably could, but keep in mind that stock can be an issue. So, hurry, or you could miss out.

2025-11-28T05:45:28.673ZAward-winning hair dryer for less
I'm a little miffed that I never got to try Dyson's latest hair dryer – I heard such good things. Well, at first I thought it was just a lot of fanciful market-speak to headline a new and expensive Dyson product but turns out the British brand has done very well with the Supersonic Nural. My colleagues loved it so much that not only did it earn 4.5 stars in our Dyson Supersonic Nural review, but it also received a coveted TechRadar Choice Award 2024 as the Home Tech Device of the Year!
Let me list why:
- This hair dryer knows when you put it down, and it will go into low-power mode after a mere second. As soon as you pick it up again, it will power back on.
- A plethora of sensors ensure the right settings are applied depending on which attachment you use – no manual adjustments needed.
- The sensors also adjust how hot or cold the airflow is based on how far the Nural is from your head to maintain what feels like a constant temperature on your scalp, thus protecting it.
Is it any wonder it costs AU$749 at full price?
However, the price of the fabulous hair dryer has dropped during every major sale since it was announced last year. And now it's a dollar less than last year's Black Friday price.

2025-11-28T02:33:44.651ZThe Dyson I use at home
The Dyson vacuum that I personally use at home is the V15s Detect Submarine. While I would have preferred the Gen5detect, I found it to be too top heavy for my comfort, but given half my home is hard floors that need mopping, the Submarine attachment is useful.
In my Dyson V15s Detect Submarine review I said that it was a fabulous mop, but it has one little flaw. I found that after I'd finished mopping, the small dirty-water compartment sloshed out brown liquid while I was removing the Submarine attachment for cleaning out. I had to find ways to ensure it didn't mess up my just-cleaned floors, but it's possible to do so. Keeping the drip tray that comes with the attachment close by is a handy thing to do but being a little extra careful doesn't hurt either.
Other than that, I can't fault it, but I also think it's expensive. Sadly, Dyson doesn't seem to list the Complete variant any longer, which comes with extra attachments and the free-standing dock, but several retailers are discounting the standard (Absolute) model, with the best price currently at Amazon with a coupon code.

2025-11-28T00:32:38.676ZA Dyson V8 alternative that's better value
Shark has proved over and over again that it can get you an excellent vacuum without the high price tag that some of its stiffest competitors have. I mean, you only need to look at the best vacuum cleaners in Australia or the best cordless stick vacuums to know how good they are.
And one of the best places to pick up a Shark at an even lower price is on Amazon. One of the most popular budget Shark cordless vacuums is already at its lowest price yet – the Shark IZ102 is just AU$208 right now – but there's another affordable Shark I'd like to turn your attention to.
It's the Shark PowerPro and, as our review says, "it's the best value" vacuum our tester has ever tried. And, honestly, to get a newly released vacuum for just AU$249 is just fabulous, and it's cheaper than the current Dyson V8 deal.

2025-11-27T22:30:38.279ZThe cheapest Dyson this Black Friday
If you're after the most affordable Dyson right now, that would be the V8 Origin and the best retailer to pick it up at would be The Good Guys who will price beat any other authorised stockist. And right now, the price beat option sees the V8 cordless drop to AU$338.
Now, it might be the cheapest Dyson, but it's by no means the best value. That's because it's older, so its suction doesn't match up with the newer models (FYI: there's a 2025 release of the Dyson V8 Cyclone that's really good, but costs more than this one).
So, who should buy this one?
Firstly, anyone on a very tight budget. It might not be the most powerful Dyson, but it can still hold its own, especially if you're cleaning mostly hard floors.
Second, if you live in a small apartment that doesn't need long runtimes as this one will drain quicker than the advertised 40 minutes when using the Digital Motorbar cleaning head.
Who should avoid it? Pet owners who have carpeted floors and those who live in a large home.
